Good for one night. The showers were filthy with large gaps in the doors, toilets had no toilet paper, red dirt absolutely everywhere in the ablution block. Campsites were of reasonable size, kids playground looked like a lot of fun. They have a beautiful view, however facilities need a lot of work in my opinion, just looked run down. I wouldn't stay here again.
Just had the most remarkable stay at Kings Ck Station and if I could give 10 stars I would. The foundational stuff was perfect:- bush tent was super comfortable, comfy beds, air con worked a treat on a 35 degree day, so it was our retreat in the afternoon. Camp kitchen was super clean and had everything we needed. We loved the camels, the baby camels, spotting dingos, lizards and birds. The Cafe was awesome, excellent food, best burgers, reasonable prices. The human stuff was above and beyond - all staff so friendly and helpful, making our stay very special. But when we ran into trouble with our hire car was when the help was extraordinary. We were stuck while waiting for road side assist for 5 hours, so staff offered for us to stay in our room as long as we needed, and offered all the extra support we needed. Big, big thanks to the very lovely Savannah who went above and beyond to help us out. Our stay was very special, we will be back.
We stayed for one night in a Drovers Dream unit. This truly is glamping, more of a canvas hut than a tent, with a proper bathroom. The room and bed were comfortable, the view of the night sky was amazing. The provided cook your own steak dinner was adequate, but left us wanting more food. Kings Creek Station is perfectly located for an early morning (sunrise) start to the Kings Canyon hike. A highlight was retuning to the Station after the hike for an amazing burger.
Can't speak to the other kinds of accommodation on offer but we stayed in a camp-site for a brief sojourn between Uluru and Alice and we loved it here. The super friendly staff were lovely and helpful, the food was great (especially considering how remote and independent this operation is), and capping off our day with a sunset on the hill was special. Staying here was a great balm after the hubbub of Ayers Rock Resort campground. A beautiful place to gaze at stars and hear the distant howls of dingoes.
We stayed at the campground for 3 nights. It is a lovely campground with sites that are not on top of each other, fire pits, peaceful and a nice outlook.
The Amenities block near us wasn’t the cleanest, however I spoke yo a lovely manager who acted on this immediately and allowed the housekeeping staff extra time to get the job done. We were there to do the walks at King’s Canyon half an hour up the road so it was a perfect location for that.
We booked one night in bush tents and added a second almost as soon as we arrived. We were cautious we wouldn’t find the beds or rooms comfy from the limited pics online. No need for any concerns, good aircon and surprisingly comfy beds. Such a great laid back feel to this place. We missed 7am included breakfast on first morning as we wanted to get out on Canyon rim walk early, we thought we would just grab something at resort up the road closer to the start but only gas station coffee there. I’d advise stay for the breakfast and aim to walk from 8am, in current weather this was fine. Brekkie on second morning was great!!
Bring your water supplies as it’s about $7 a bottle here, but wine and food prices were reasonable considering the location. We would come back!
if you must be in Kings canyon, and if you don't expect anything, this remote and much-too-expensive hotel will be enough. 2 tents on a ramp, one for shower and one for bed, hard to find and get to the "rooms", dinner until 18:30 far from the rooms, no microwave to warm the food, no t.v, a small tent in the wilderness.
further more, no water in the shower, a drizzle in the sink. no shower after a long day in the desert.
we asked for a quiet room. it's the closest to the generator.
why does it cost like a 4-star hotel in Melbourne?
I camped here last night. The site they allocated me was fine although right next to a camper van despite me requesting something private. The generator by the main building was running all night keeping me awake. The showers and toilet were ok but not as good as other sites I have stayed at across the red centre. So I’m summary it’s ok but could be much better.
